February 3 at 7:37pm ·

The Vero Beach Dog Park’s good friend, Sean Verne of Paw Prints is giving two free classes on February 21st.
The first is an off leash training class to be given at Riverside Park at 10:00 am. This is a great opportunity to bring your dog to an obedience training class for absolutely no charge.

The second class will be given at Vero Beach Dog Park at 2:00 pm. This seminar will be for the training of our Dog Park Ambassadors. We are completely revamping our Ambassadors program and this class in mandatory for anyone who would like to participate in the program. Anyone who would like to attend simply to learn more about dog behavior will be more than welcome.

Please reserve your place for one or both of these classes by sending an email with your name and the class(es) you would like to attend to

TC Palm: Bark in the Park was tail-wagging-good fun

From TC Palm, Fran Foster:

It was held at Riverside Park in Vero Beach as a dog-walk fundraiser and adoption event – but it was really a fun fest for all those in attendance.

Humane Society Executive Director Chalmers Morse believes that more than 7,500 people came out to support the Society's efforts, but it was not as smooth as it looked. With torrential rains for days before, Morse found the park under water on Friday and had to come up with a drying solution quickly.

"The field was covered in water and we knew we couldn't hold the event if we couldn't get the water removed," said Morse. "So we worked with one of our partners, Milt Wilcox from the Ultimate Air Dock Jumping Dogs, dug holes and pumped the water into the retention pond."

By Saturday morning, the field was ready for the Pet Parade Walk, where dogs were dressed in costume and people walked around the perimeter in honor of a beloved lost pet or in honor of one of the animals in the shelter.
